There are plenty of great characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many of whom have had some excellent and memorable moments. But there are some scenes with Marvel characters that you don’t actually see, who are instead hinted at. Sometimes it’s only after the film has come out that?we find out a character was involved somehow, and sometimes it’s just a little bit of speculation. Whichever one of these it might be, here’s a list of our favourite character Easter eggs?in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Oh also, spoilers for the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

The Punisher
After?Captain America: The Winter Soldier?was released, directors Anthony and Joe Russo revealed that The Punisher had made an appearance in the film… sort of. In fact, he appeared twice, both times driving a yellow truck that helped out the heroes.

Adam Warlock
Alright, this one isn’t strictly speaking confirmed, but most people agree that it is part of continuity. In the comics, Adam Warlock is born out of a cocoon. In the post-credits scene of?Thor: The Dark World?you see a giant cocoon in The Collector’s … lair I suppose? In the post-credits scene?Guardians of the Galaxy?you again see this cocoon, but this time, it’s wide open, suggesting that Warlock is now out there in the galaxy.

Janet Van Dyne
Another one that hasn’t technically been confirmed, during the climax of?Ant-Man,?when Scott Lang has entered the ‘micro-verse’, there’s a flash of what looks like the outline of a woman. We know from earlier in the film that she is lost in there, so it would make sense that this outline is Janet Van Dyne.

Jocasta
You could argue that we do get to see Jocasta in a way, but I think it still counts. In?Age of Ultron?when Tony Stark is choosing a personality to replace Jarvis, before choosing Friday (which in itself is an Easter egg) you can see a disc marked ‘Jocasta’, who in the comics was a female robot created by Ultron to be his mate…

The Mandarin
No not that one, the REAL Mandarin. Even though this character wasn’t in one of the main films, one of the Marvel one shots (called? All Hail the King) featured the fake Mandarin in prison, and at the end, we find out that the real Mandarin has heard all about him, and isn’t too happy about it. Now, you could argue that this isn’t a proper part of the MCU, but it’s set in the same world, with the same characters, so I count it. This also is nowhere near the first time this character has been hinted at, with Easter eggs for the Ten Rings having made an appearance as early as?Iron Man,?and as recently as?Ant-Man.
