The?Batman v Superman?official synopsis was recently released, and other than generally being unexciting, there were two big issues I had with it. Before I get to them, you can read the synopsis below.
Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City?s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis?s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.? And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it?s ever known before.
Why did they feel the need to tell us that ‘a new threat quickly arises’??How nice would it have been to go into the film thinking that Batman and Superman were the only two, or at least the main two characters that were going to be fighting? We always knew that they were going to be buddies by the time the credits role, but to hear it officially is like having any major plot point ruined.

Worse than this is the choice of words used. ‘The world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs’.?This is almost a word for word reuse of one of the most famous quotes from? The Dark Knight?trilogy, a series of films Dawn of Justice?is already going to have trouble distinguishing itself from. The people who wrote this synopsis definitely picked up on this similarity when they wrote it, which makes it even more ridiculous. If they had real confidence in this film, they wouldn’t feel the need to keep reminding people of?The Dark Knight.
What do you think of the?Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?official synopsis? Do you agree with my criticisms, or are you excited to find out more? Share your thoughts in the comments.
This synopsis didn’t state anything I didn’t already guess for myself. Of course they’re not going to be enemies throughout the film. What better way to unite them then a common enemy?
Hopefully the threat isn’t Doomsday as it has been currently rumoured. I’d prefer Darkseid to be the common enemy and how even Batman and Superman couldn’t beat him leading to the formation of a Justice League.
