Bond 24 is the highly?anticipated next instalment in the sophisticated action thriller James Bond series. Today the team behind the film have released details confirming the cast and the name.
The next James Bond film will be called Spectre. The title stands for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion which was the name of an international crime syndicate headed by Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Although this film is not a direct sequel to Skyfall, it will be set in the same world. Returning to direct will be Sam Mendes after his huge success with the previous chapter. The cast from the 2013?mega-hit?will also be?returning, with Daniel Craig (James Bond), Ralph Fiennes (M), Ben Whishaw (Q), Naomie Harris (Eve Moneypenny) and Rory Kinnear (Tanner) all signed on.
Joining the cast there will also be a mix of many up and coming?big stars including:
Andrew Scott, best known for his role as Moriarty?in the BBC’s Sherlock TV series, to play a character known as Denbigh.
Christoph Waltz, from Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained, to play a character named Oberhauser. However, it is still rumoured that he will play the Bond’s nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Those familiar with James Bond history will recognise this name being attached to the recurring, cat-loving, chair-swirling, James Bond mastermind?villain. First appearing in the 1963 From Russia With Love, and totalling 7 appearances, Blofeld?has been?played by 6 different actors; most recognizably by Donald Pleasence in the 1967 You Only Live Twice.
Dave Bautista, known from his wrestling career and the 2014 hit Guardians of ?the Galaxy, also joins the cast to play a henchmen called Mr. Hinx.
Monica Bellucci, known from her role in the Matrix series, will play the role of?Lucia Sciarra and alongside L?a Seydoux will be the new ‘Bond Girl’.
L?a Seydoux, known from The Grand Budapest Hotel and Blue is the Warmest Colour, will take on the part of?Madeleine Swann and will also be a ‘Bond Girl’.
Spectre is expected to release in the UK on the 23rd October 2015.
