So, you’ve seen?Avengers: Age of Ultron?six times, and you’re wondering, ‘what does this mean for my favourite character?’. In this series of articles, we’re going to take a look at where each character has been left, and use what we already know, as well as some speculation, to discuss what the end of?Age of Ultron?means for each of the Avengers. Needless to say, spoilers ahead for?Age of Ultron.

Scarlet Witch ended?Age of Ultron?in a place a lot of people might not have been expecting. She’s now a fully fledged Avenger, and no doubt an important part of the team. She’s very powerful (something the films haven’t had a chance to explore yet), and with her brother now dead, she has nowhere else to go, which leaves her in a similar situation to Captain America.
Elizabeth Olsen has already been rumoured to appear in the next?Captain America?film,?Civil War, which is starting to look like it might have all of the new Avengers team in it, and who wouldn’t love that? She is a totally different character to the rest of the team, and can bring something unique not only power and ability wise, but also in her history and possibly the points of view she has on certain subjects.
One thing that will almost certainly be explored in future films is her relationship with Vision. In the comics, the two of them get married and even have children at one point. While I don’t think the cinematic universe would go there, a romance between the two is almost definitely on the table. It was hinted at multiple times, most notably when he saved her in the most heroic way possible at the last second. They’re going to be spending a lot more time together too now that they’re both Avengers so watch this space.

The other place that Scarlet Witch might appear is in the upcoming?Doctor Strange?film. The two of them are the only two magic based characters seen so far in the Marvel cinematic universe, so are a natural fit to appear in a film together. This could be an interesting way to both introduce Doctor Strange and expand on what we’ve seen so far of Scarlet Witch.
What do you think is next for Scarlet Witch? Did we miss anything? Share your thoughts in the comments.
Cannot wait for the introduction scene in Captain America: Civil War with Scarlet Witch kicking ass. It’s a shame she won’t get her own film franchise, but her character will definitely add layers to future Avenger storylines.
She and Cap will definitely be close friends just like in the comics. She and Cap will bond hugely because they are both alone and have lost everyone from their old lives. He definitely helps her alot with her losing her family because he knows exactly how she feels. He inspires her to keep going.
On the other hand there’s Tony Stark, whom she hates. She is very anti-government due to her experiences in her home country, so him supporting what she would consider a slippery slope to fascism. But I think Stark’s desire to make Bucky pay for his parent’s death, and his grief reflecting hers, will lead her to see him in a new, more sympathetic light.
So, where will Vision fit in all this? He will mediate between Tony and Wanda, trying to get them to talk instead of fight (I’m betting there will be an Iron Man vs Scarlet Witch fight which an upset Vision breaks up). They will be friends but not romantic yet; I think Vision being on the other side or being neutral might grind her gears.Imagine the Hulk punches Thanos with her nearby…the impact is thousands of times more powerful via her probability enhancing.
One thing I do not want to see, ever, is any of that misogynistic, disgusting Byrne/Bendis crap which has sadly ruined comics Wanda. Let’s see her get stronger, realize how strong she really is, and become a great leader and fighter.
Also, if you pay attention, she DOES have probability manipulation; its a passive ability that surrounds her, and which she is unaware of (at least consciously). She used it to deactivate Stark’s bomb, and to survive the Mind Stone/Staff experiments, and note that her brother died when he was separated from her. Her power grows exponentially due to probability manipulation. Imagine the Hulk punches Thanos with her nearby…the impact is thousands of times more powerful via her probability enhancing.
How did she get this power? My guess is she is not an Inhuman, but rather a descendant of the surviving Eternals.
